1. BBC World News banned in China
China has banned
BBC World News from broadcasting in the country. According to a statement from
China's National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA).
• In an apparent
retaliatory move, the announcement comes one week after British media regulator
Ofcom withdrew broadcasting license for state-owned China Global Television
Network (CGTN) in the United Kingdom.
• It comes against the backdrop of growing conflict between Beijing and Western governments over issues ranging from human rights to trade and the COVID-19 pandemic.
2. Earthquake of
6.3 magnitude strikes Tajikistan
A high intensity
earthquake hit Tajikistan, tremors of which were felt in Delhi-NCR and several
other parts of North India including Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh and
Himachal Pradesh.

1. ISRO to launch Brazil’s Amazonia-1 by
month-end
In its first
dedicated commercial mission of the newly-formed NewSpace India Limited (NSIL),
the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISO) will launch the PSLV-C51/
Amazonia-1 Mission at the end of the month.
• Amazonia-1 is an
optical earth observation satellite developed by National Institute for Space
Research (INPE), Brazil.
• This will be the first launch of a Brazilian satellite from India.
2. Production of Khadi records 29 % growth in country:
KVIC Chairman
Chairman of the
Khadi and Village Industries Commission Vinai Kumar Saxena said that the
production of Khadi has recorded 29 per cent growth in the country.
• KVIC has
approached various educational institutes and departments to adopt khadi
products.
• 94 million square
metres of Khadi has been produced during the last six years.

3. ‘Robotic Spa’ facility inaugurated at Visakhapatnam
railway station
Waltair Division,
in its efforts to enhance the passenger amenities at Railway stations, has
commissioned another innovative facility called Robotic Spa under Non-fare
revenue at Visakhapatnam railway station.
• It is the first
of its kind facility at Railway station in East Coast Railway.

comprising Relaxing Chair, Foot massager and Fish pedicure spa gives a pleasant
experience to the Rail Customers waiting at Visakhapatnam railway station.

4. e-Office file management systems implemented in all
districts of Manipur
In Manipur,
e-Office file management systems have been implemented in 62 Departments and in
all the 16 districts.

leading state in the entire North East region in terms of e-Office
implementation.

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh distributed 186 desktop computer sets to

6. Odisha to construct ‘COVID Warrior Memorial’ in
Bhubaneswar
In order to recognize the sacrifice and services
rendered by the Covid warriors who lost their lives fighting the pandemic, the
government has decided to construct a Covid Warrior Memorial in Odisha.
• The Biju Patnaik Park in Bhubaneswar has been
selected for this purpose.
• Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department to the
Works Department it was also said that the Works Department has been declared
as the Nodal Department for construction of the Covid Warrior Memorial.
• They will engage an architect to finalise the design
and structure of the said memorial and take approval from the competent
authority.

Draghi, sworn in as Italian Prime Minister.
